Where is the Sound of His People?
Acts 2:6 “And when this sound was heard, a crowd gathered.”
Releasing a sound isn’t a personality issue; it’s a DNA issue.
As a believer, we have been born out of the One who created the entire cosmos with sound and then according to Hebrews 1:3, the glue that holds it altogether is His spoken word.
The Sound of our Creator conceived and maintains all of creation, yet many of His children are mute. For those that have a difficult time opening your mouth and releasing a sound, let me encourage & challenge you.
It was with sound…
The entire world was formed
The walls of Jericho crumbled and fell
Joshua made the Sun stand still
Gideon stopped the tormenting cycle of his enemies, the Midianites
Ezekiel raised up an army out of dead bones
Jesus healed an officer’s son towns away
Jesus raised a widow’s dead son in the middle of a funeral procession
Jesus made evil spirits shut up and come out
Paul & Silas made the ground of their city shake, prison doors open and chains break off
Peter made a lame man walk
I could go on and on. You’ve come too late to tell me there is no power in the sound of His people. You’ve come too let to tell me the Church needs to quietly sit in the background.
Everywhere you see a desperate situation in the Word that required the assistance of Heaven, it is connected to someone opening up their mouth and releasing a sound.
Yet fast forward over 2000 years later, when you walk into a vast majority of Churches, you will find His people have a lock jaw.
The same Church that was birthed in Acts 2 with a raw, loud, unedited sound that shook an entire city has now succumb to a weak, frail, intimated whisper that makes our presence virtually unknown in any given city.
When Deborah arose in the book of Judges, her land had been gripped by oppression for 20 years. Their enemy was able to run rampant not because there weren’t any fighters. She had 40,000 soldiers at her disposal. The enemy was given permission to wreak havoc because not one of the warriors were engaged. Not one was fighting. Not one was pushing back against the agenda of the enemy. 40,000 warriors had come to accept oppression, defeat and silence as normal. 40,000 warriors, yet not one war cry could be heard in the land.
Has the Church come to accept silence as normal? Have we normalized one man or one woman or one worship team releasing a sound while the rest of His people watch the show and remain silent?
I cannot and will not ever normalize silence in the House of God by the people of God.
Psalm 72:16 May the city be filled with praising people.
I believe the Holy Spirit is breathing on the vocal cords of the Bride. The breath of His Spirit is burning off every muzzling spirit that gripped His Church. As we get closer and closer to His return, He will align the voice box of His lovers to atmosphere of the Throne Room….
“And ALL the creatures worshipped without ceasing, day and night, singing, Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty”
